Designated Home Theater Room
When Elite Home Theater was contacted by our client we were very intrested in the unique challanges of this room. This room is located on the second floor of the house and has four windows that let in absorbant amounts of light. The room also had tilted ceilings that could have caused people to hit their heads if the riser was too high. Elite's first method of action was to contruct the room in a full 3-Dimensional drawing with exact room dimensions. This allowed us to test the unique characterstics of the room to make sure our customers wishes were all possible. The sketch below is an example of what we had put together for our client. The person in the sketch is approximately six feet tall.

After we had put together the drawings above we worked very closely with Paul R. Maina builders, Distinctive Woodworking, and Lou's Electric to make sure that the room was constructed exactly as we had designed it. The electrician installed outlets for the motorized seats and all of our lighting switches, fixtures, courtesy lights, and more. We also wanted to make sure that our equipment, motorized seating, and outlets were all located on different breakers in the electrical panel to prevent any power issues.
Finally, when everything was ready for us to begin installing the equipment we were very excited at how everything was coming along. We installed the seating, projector, and screen first. From there we moved onto the actual components to get the audio in the room sounding prefect with all of the surroundings. Finally we installed motorized shades and custom programmed the touchscreen remote to operate everything in the room with ease. Above you can see the final product, which came out exactly as the client had dreamed.
Retrofit Home Automation Solution
While our client's home theater was being constructed he was amazed with the lighting solution that we began to install. We had advised our client that the lighting solution, thermostats, and security could also be controlled by a home automation system. Our client felt that this would allow him to more efficiently manage his house's electrical usage. The client could also observe and control his house via a mobile smart phone from his office or while on vacation.
One final touch that we put into the automation system was the ability to have the house talk. Since our client has two small children our client found it important to be able to know if his children were getting into a dangerous area. Our solution creates an audible notification of all doors or windows that get opened. These alarms can also be shut-off if desired. |
